Microsoft to Compensate Customers?

Over the Holiday break Microsoft's Xbox Live service was partially down. I don't know about everyone else, but Live was still up for me, yet it was really buggy. It seemed like a large number of people were still online, and this raises the question of who Microsoft would compensate if anyone? Hopefully Microsoft will show excellent support skills and give everyone some gamer points so some people could finally download the Halo 3 Heroic map pack. = )
